Council Tax Exemptions reduce the amount due to be paid by the person/s liable for the Council Tax charge. Entitlement is based on household numbers/age/and various criteria. There are possible exemptions when a property is unoccupied and unfurnished, for those under age 18, relating to students, for care leavers under 26, for impairment (such as through dementia) with a certain benefit entitlement, as well as other types of exemption.
