Income Support is a low income/capital benefit for certain carers who already receive this benefit and remain eligible for this who haven’t moved to Universal Credit. Carer’s Allowance is a separate benefit from Income Support and is taken into account as an income in your assessment for Income Support, however Carers Allowance will increase Income Support by awarding a carer premium.
