The Scottish Government replaced the Carer’s Allowance Supplement with the Scottish Carer Supplement for those receiving the Carer Support Payment. This change aims to provide more regular and consistent financial support to carers.
Current recipient of the Carer’s Allowance Supplement will automatically transition to the Scottish Carer Supplement without needing to re-apply. Social Security Scotland will notify recipients of this change.
The Scottish Carer Supplement will be paid weekly alongside the Carer Support Payment, ensuring that eligible carers received a more stable income.
