Carer Additional Person Payment

In addition to the Scottish Carer Supplement, a new Carer Additional Person Payment has been introduced for those caring for more than one disabled person.

Carers Benefits

Carer Additional Person Payment will provide additional financial support to those with multiple caring responsibilities. Carers must be:

  • Paid Carer Support Payment (underlying entitlement no eligible)
  • Care for al lest 20 hours per week for one or more additional person (s) who receives a qualifying disability benefit
  • Caring hours can be carried out at the same time across all cared for persons
  • Care cannot be provided as part of a contract of employment or where volunteering as part of a charitable/non-profit organisation
