Pension Age Disability Payment has opened for new applications in East Ayrshire from 24 March 2025. Pension Age Disability Payment replaces the Department of Work and Pensions benefit Attendance Allowance.
Any new claims from 24 March 2025 for adults who have reached pension age, with an Ayrshire postcode will be made for Pension Age Disability Payment.
Existing Attendance Allowance claimants will be contacted at the time their transfer to Pension Age Disability Payment will be carried out. There is no need to re-apply.

You can call Social Security Scotland by phone to start an application for an adult.
Freephone: 0800 182 2222 (8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday).
You will be asked for some details about the applicant so that Social Security Scotland can start your application. They will then send you a paper application to complete and return in a prepaid envelope.
