Universal Credit is an income /capital based benefit which replaces some other low income benefits for certain new claimants or those whose circumstances change whilst on some other benefits. Not everyone should claim Universal Credit so seek advice before starting a claim. Universal Credit can have additional amounts included in the assessment dependent on circumstances.
