There are two types of grant from the Scottish Welfare Fund.
Crisis Grant
A Crisis Grant for people who are on benefits or have a low income, who are in crisis such a having a fire or a flood at home. Or an emergency like needing to travel to visit a sick child or when money has been stolen. There are limits to the number of times you can apply across any 12-month period.
Community Care Grant
A Community Care Grant for people on a low income or on benefits who may have to go into care unless they get some support to stay at home, or when leaving hospital, prison or a residential care home. A Community Care Grant can also help families facing exceptional pressures with one-off items such as getting cooker or a washing machine.
